Being in the AI image generation space since 2021, I've seen the development of ai video go from animating our creations shift from a dream to reality. Specifically, a metric to show people how far we've come is these videos of an AI will smith eating spaghetti.

What does Will Smith eating spaghetti have to do with anything?

I have to admit, I didn't think this was the direction of this blog, but seriously, these videos encapsulate a large amount of the difficulties of video. I'll break it down - the main hurdles of ai video is consistency, context, accurate physics and general realistic representation. Consistency is hard as when images are inferenced frame by frame, with 24 frames a second, the likelihood of major shifts change exponentially. Furthermore, any small change between each frame can cause visual stuttering. For context, the ability to combine the prompt "will smith" and "eating spaghetti" causing the model to create the movement motion is nothing short of magic. In the beginning of ai video, we would need pre-existing footage to replicate the movement, modern day we can avoid needing this.

Spaghetti itself is a weird food for an image model to understand. Any small movement from the characters hand, affects the fork, and affects the spaghetti, causing it's movement to move around. From our evolution, we have a keen eye for how things should act, we struggle to put it into words but we know what looks normal. Humans ability to see this uncanny valley is what has stopped Ai Video from being a major player in the digital marketing space, until now. The exponential growth in community and commercial support has allowed training / finetuning to exponentially grow, meaning day by day we're closing the gap to video-realistic.

Why would you use video over stills?

Just like a well rounded meal, your strategy needs diversity, a mix of stills, video, blog updates, etc, builds a cohesive plan. And if you're all about the stats, video is king. Since we've entered the scroll and attention deficit era of modern day, engaging video has boosted customer engagement by 400%. 400%. Why on earth wouldn't you use video?!

Gone are the days of week long shoots for a 30 second TVC or a package of 10 reels. We can go from concept to production to delivery in the time it would take a production company to go from planning to production. The question we often get is that of quality, with art director backgrounds, our team don't release products unless they're cutting edge and boundary pushing. We ensure not only quality video, but quality video which seemlessly inserts into your brand's current look and field, retaining the trust your audience has developed, while holding their attention.
